The difference between on-page and off-page

In the world of SEO, Off-site Optimization talks about the elements and factors that have an impact on website ranking of organic search results.

These factors usually are not under your control (or if you do manipulations on the search engine - they are under your control, but we will assume
that you are innocent).

Website Promotion Services

Part II: off-site actions that you can do to affect the rating

The list: offsite optimization

- Submission to search engines

- Sending a press release

- Article websites

- Bookmarking sites and social networks

- Submitting RSS

- Sending Sitemap.xml

- Adding video (YouTube)

On-Page

1. Keyword research and proper choice

First of all, think as a 50 year old grandmother , who now need the product that you offer, if for example you do "Pigeon banishing", than a 50-year-old grandmother ,which wants to find you, will not type  "Pigeon removal John Wayne," she will search for "how to keep pigeons off the roof" or "banishing of pigeon,  NYC ". Therefore, you need to think as a user and as a man of SEO.

Part I: Optimization stand

Always look for the potential words, another example - if your site is new and small and your competitors are bigger, do not try to promote the "strict" word, in our case, “Pigeon banishing". Try to promote "How to banish pigeons", "Pigeon banishing in NYC", "Pigeon banishing from privet apartments "and so on.

Bottom line - if the competition is tough and your means are meager - go on "Long-Tails" (long title that the users search).

Tools that can be used with keyword research:

https://adwords.google.com/ko/KeywordPlanner - a tool to identify keywords from Google, enables you to display data about keyword and competition in that niche.

http://www.phraseup.com - displays the search engine's suggestions as you type a word, let you see what users are looking for.

2. Use of friendly URL structure for the search engine

Help search engines understand what page you are visiting, watch for a second at your browser's address bar.

If the user is entering this article right now, he will see in the address bar (In Hebrew it sometimes presented as-numbers and percentages) the name of the category in which he is located \ title of the article.

This is what makes the "spider", which crawls my site, to understand what are the categories and the spoken pages in it.

A Link-Structure for the WORDPRESS users.

If you have a website that is founded on WORDPRESS, it can be done with two clicks:

Go to the management system of the website -> Settings ->Links Structure (Permalinks) -> Select Custom -> and type:

/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html

(You will receive the link structure like my blog).

My website address bar (Opera browser)

* Users of custom-made systems, ask your programmer this request even though he will not endear you.

3. Optimize your keyword in the title of your site

The most important consideration to take into consideration when you are trying to promote your website the right use of your title tag in favor of the promotion.

The title tag (<title>) is a factor on "what the content page is talking about" and that is how the search
engines referring to it.

Search engines display the title in the search results when your site appears in one of the results,
which means you have 8 seconds (more or less) to pull the user to your site with the title.

So already, there are two implications to consider,

If a user sees the doctrine of your site (Let's continue with the example of pigeons) that talks about
"pigeons banishing in NYC," and he, in general, lives in NYC. He probably will not enter to your site,
but you say something like "banishing pigeons across the country"; it sounds like something that
can talk to anyone.

* Do not forget to limit your site title to 65 characters, search engines do not show more than that - and too bad.

4. Optimize your keywords that appears in the description of the site.

Those who do not understand I am talking about meta-description: Although Meta tags do not affect
SEO anymore; you cannot ignore them.

You have to remember that description tag is actually - the interior of your site in search engines.
Search engines use the description tag to display "Summary" section on your site.

Usually if the text does not speak to the user - he will not enter your site. Try to write down a focused
description on the page that the user is going to see.

* The description page will not exceed 160 characters.

SEO plugins for WORDPRESS users.

I will recommend you on two extensions, one is free and another for fee - both excellent.

1. All in one SEO pack - fee (there is also a free version), I use it since I discovered it.

2. Yoast - WordPress SEO Plugin - a free version, veteran and great.

* Both can automatically write the description page.

5. Optimize your keywords in the title of the text (H1 / H2 / H3).

The correct structure of page headers usually looks like this:

H1 - title of the article

H2 - sub-title of title

H3 - sub-heading of the sub-title of the title.

The correct structure of the "Headlines" helps search engines understand the semantics of the page.

6. The internal links in the article

How many times have you written an article on a topic that you already have written about in the past
or had to mention a paragraph from another article that you already have written on your website?

Once you can mention an article that is already written with a link (at the same site, of course),
you are helping to build proper links within your site , and cause the user to be interested and stay
on your site longer than he expected, by relocating him to more articles on your site.

In addition, you cause the "spider" of the search engine to patrol on your website.

7. Optimize your keyword density on your site.

Keyword density of your page is the scale of the number of times that your keyword appears
on a page in relation to other words.

Avoid compressing too many keyword on the page; too many mentions of a specific keyword
on the page can hurt your rankings. Moreover, consider you a spammer.

Try to put the keywords with different variations (continue with the pigeon banishing).

Examples for a page that wants to promote itself as “pigeons banishing":

- banishing pigeons

- How to keep pigeons away from house

- Solutions of pigeon’s removal from home

What is the recommended keyword density?

A question that many tend to get confused it, but I would recommend one keyword per 100 words (to be safe).
Some say 3-4 times for every 100 words, but this is my recommendation. The choice is in your hands.
Keep in mind that too much can hurt you.

8. Use highlighting of phrases (<B>) in your text.

Try to highlight your articles with phrases that include the keyword.

For example:

"If you also suffer from the pigeons - let's banish them and get reliable service"

Such statement underlines the significance of the page, and even includes your keyword "pigeon banishing".

9. Use the ALT tag for images.

If you have images in the article and, as you should know already, the "spiders" of the search engines do not see but read. Help them understand what the picture speaks with proper use of ALT tag.

Try to give short descriptions for photos but do not repeat the same descriptions repeatedly.

You can write the keyword in the alt tag but take into account Article 7.

 10. Correct writing.

Avoid writing low-level articles.

Google.com already knows how to read English sentences and understand what it says. Not far the day that Google USA will also know the read the articles that you written and identify errors in punctuation and grammar. Write articles that contain quality content and have a correct structure.

In conclusion

The internal pages optimization is one of the most important elements at the beginning of the process of a website promotion. Try to act upon them and implement them. True, this is sometimes a "dirty work", but eventually rewarding.
